With busy days, deadlines, and stress, it is important relax - it is good for your health and mental well being.  You may not have time or money to plan a full weekend away, or even an hour at a spa or massage therapist.  What can you do quickly and cheaply at home, now?

We are designed to need some down time.  Here are some simple tips that are quick and inexpensive – they them tonight and see what a difference they can make:

Books - Reading is a great way to relax, especially before bed.  It can be entertaining and even prime your dreams for the evening!  Be sure to select a topic that you enjoy and that isn't too stressful, sracy, or upsetting. Curl up in a confortable spot with a cozy blanket and your favorite slippers. 

Tea - Drinking tea is an especially popular way to relax.  There are many natural, herbal teas that promote relaxation without the side effects of caffiene.  One of the most popular relaxing teas if chamomile.  Chamomile tea has a pleasant apple-like flavor that is quite tastey.  Valerian is another option used ot help people relax. There are many tea blends on the market today - try out a few to see which taste best to you and which help you relax the most.

Wine - Many peole enjoy a glass of sweet red wine to relax before bed time.  Think about the alcohol content before selecting your vintage, however.  You may respond better to lower or higher amounts of alcohol.

Exercise - Exercise helps to burn off excess energy and release chemicals in your body that can help you relax and feel more at peace.  Be sure to allow an adqueate 'cool down' period after your exercise.

Massage - Who doesn't like a nice back rub?  You don't have to get a full body massage to relax so that you can sleep.  You can focus on your shoulders, back, feet, or even hands.  Consider using healthy essential oils.  Remember to plan time to return the favor to the person who gave you the massage!
